For some, summer is a time for relaxation, venturing outdoors, and recharging after a long winter. For us at the Fritter Shop, summer is one of our busiest times of the year! It’s GO GO GO all summer long! From the shop to the markets to all the events in between, we’re always on the go.
…And we wouldn’t have it any other way! We love the summer because it means so many more opportunities for us to connect with you and share the love of fritters.
So, where can you find us this summer?
1. UWO Farmer’s Market Tuesdays 9 AM – 2 PM
We kick off our weeks at the UWO Farmer’s Market located right on Western’s beautiful campus. No student ID required – you don’t have to be a student to stop by and enjoy the local vendors. But fritters do make a nice study break snack if you happen to be on campus for summer courses!
2. Masonville Farmer’s Market Fridays 8 AM – 1 PM
Nothing says summer like the Masonville Farmer’s Market! After a shopping trip to Masonville mall, step into the parking lot for some amazing local produce as well as a variety of other vendors (including some yummy fritters served by yours truly).
3. Horton Farmer’s Market Saturdays 8 AM – 12 PM
On Saturdays, we like to hang in the place where it all started, St. Thomas! You can find us every Saturday at the Horton Farmer’s Market, along with other local artisans and vendors.
4. Art in the Barn July 13 – 14
Taking place in Dorchester, ON, Art in the Barn is Southwestern Ontario’s largest summer arts and crafts festival and we’ll be there, serving fritters the whole weekend!
And as always, we’ll be in our regular spots…
5. The Market at Western Fair District Saturdays 8 AM – 3 PM / Sundays 10 AM – 2 PM
Spend your weekends with us at the WFD Market! You can find us there on Saturdays and Sundays all year long!
6. The Fritter Shop (St. Thomas) Mon – Wed 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM / Thurs – Sat 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM / Sun 10 AM – 4 PM
Of course, our St. Thomas location is open every day of the week if you can’t make it to one of the markets!

Fritter Fam! We’ve been working on a special partnership that is near and dear to our hearts, and is sure to hit close to home for many of you!
We’re partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society to raise funds in support of their local London branch! During the month of April, $1 from each lemon fritter purchased from The Market at the Western Fair District will go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Who is the Canadian Cancer Society?
The Canadian Cancer Society is a charitable organization made up of dedicated volunteers, located in communities across Canada. Through generous donations and fundraising, they are able to help fund cancer research projects, as well as provide support services to those living with cancer and their loved ones.
Like any charitable organization, the Canadian Cancer Society needs funds to operate. That’s where we come in!
We are fortunate enough to have such a great group of customers and we thought, why not mobilize our audience for a good cause? We know how kind and giving you all are and knew we’d have no problem getting the Fritter Fam involved!
Let’s help the Canadian Cancer Society do good with fritters! By purchasing a lemon fritter in April, you are supporting an organization that is working to eradicate cancer and create an overall better quality of life for all Canadians.
If you want to participate, please use the hashtag #FrittersGiveBack and #Frittersbitecancer when you post photos or stories of your lemon fritters this month!
So Fritter Fam, are you ready to get involved? Our goal is to raise $1,000 for London’s chapter, which means we need to sell 1,000 fritters during the month of April. We can do it, but not without your help! We’ll be baking all the delicious fritters, but we need people to eat them of course!
This month, please consider purchasing the lemon fritter during your trip to the Market – a tasty flavour perfect for Spring and it contributes to a good cause. A win-win! Whether it’s one fritter for yourself or a few dozen for an event, each purchase makes a difference!

Do you have a thing for sauces? Because we do!
With fries, it’s ketchup…
When you buy a bag of tortilla chips, you MUST have salsa…
Carrots and ranch dressing…
Everyone has their favourite type of sauce. Something to spice up a snack every once in a while.
Fritters go well with just about everything, although we have never tried them with ketchup… Let us know if you have!
Here is our list of must-try sauces with fritters!
Our #1 topping for fritters is…
A freshly heated fritter with a scoop of naturally flavoured vanilla ice cream is THE BEST! It’s perfect for the Spring and Summer months (or any time of the year really)! If you’re feeling saucy (see what we did there?), pair different ice cream flavours with different fritter flavours.
Strawberries & Cream + Strawberry Rhubarb Fritter
Vanilla + Maple Pecan Fritter
Chocolate Chip + Brownie Fritter
Seriously the options are endless…
Maybe you’re looking for something a little more low key
You can never go wrong with whipped cream!
Mix up your event desserts this year and include apple fritters instead of apple pie. With your homemade whipped cream it’s just as delicious as apple pie, but with a twist!
Also! Now you can get VEGAN apple fritters! Perfect for your guests who typically can’t have dessert!
The ultimate treat is a fritter with a dollop of ice cream, topped off with whipped cream! Done and Done!
Slim’s Cranberry Scorpion Pepper Hot Sauce with Blueberry (it’s a mouthful right?)
And no, we’re not joking.
Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! The Fritter Shop has partnered with Slim’s Pepper Co. to bring you the best hot sauce to pair with your fritters! If you’re a hot sauce fiend, then this is for you!
It offers the perfect pairing of sweet and spicy! Not to mention, you can put it on just about anything!
Now… if you’re REALLY feeling spicy! Add a little to your apple fritter and ice cream… Now that would be the perfect pairing!
You can find Slim’s Cranberry Scorpion Pepper Hot Sauce with Blueberry at The Fritter Shop’s booth located at The Market on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.!
Enjoy your fritters friends!
You asked for it, so we made it. Introducing… our new vegan fritter!
We love hearing from our customers’ and over the last year, we’ve received a ton of requests for vegan-friendly fritters. So, what took us so long?
Well, the answer is pretty simple – we wanted it to be PERFECT for you!
We take pride in our delicious fritters and we wanted to be able to deliver/create a vegan fritter that meets the same standards as what we’ve been serving. After a long period of trial and error, we finally created a plant-based recipe that is on par with our original. It’s the same flavour you love, but with slightly different ingredients.
Trying all the different versions was… interesting… We knew it was possible but had to taste-test a few unfritter-like batches before we landed on our final recipe.
We want EVERYONE to be able to share the fritter experience.
Fritters are too tasty to be limited to one type of diet. We want our baked goods to be accessible to everyone, no matter their dietary restrictions. Not only does our new vegan fritter accommodate plant-based diets, but it’s also perfect for our customers who have allergies to ingredients, such as dairy or eggs. There’s nothing worse than sitting there while everyone around you is enjoying delicious food you can’t eat. We understand this struggle and wanted to bring you in on the action!
You’re probably wondering, “how the heck can I get my hands on one, or six, or twelve?”
Our new vegan fritters will come out of the oven and into your mouth at The Western Fair Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or at our permanent location in St. Thomas (please order in advance at our St. Thomas Location!)
Our vegan fritter is available in our traditional apple flavour – for now. We’re always experimenting with new flavour combinations to please your taste buds, so make sure to follow us on Instagram to stay up-to-date. We look forward to seeing you
Who has tried one? What did you think?
